Charles WilhelmThanks to all of you who have supported the Expo over the last six years, we are heading into our 7th Year this May. Lots of activity on the Show already this New Year and things are looking very good for another Horseman’s Dream Weekend May 17 and 18 at the Spokane Fair & Expo Center. Our Expo will kick-off on Friday evening the 16th of May with our “Spirit of the West” Show at 5pm, followed by “An Evening with Josh Lyons” at 6:30pm. Doors will open at 4pm for this special night.

We are proud to bring back Josh Lyons and Charles Wilhelm, two world class clinicians that we continually have requests for. Their knowledge, expertise, and presentations make them crowd favorites and we are pleased that they will be joining us in May. Charles Wilhelm will also present “Special Horses, Special Bond” with his own personal horses in a three hour Saturday Night Performance including Liberty, Bridleless, Reining and Cutting. This Event will be included in your day admission to the Show. Doug & Kathy Vouchell of Centaur Training in Eugene, OR will return to co-host our Third Annual XTreme Trail Challenge, as well as provide their expertise in several training clinics. We are already receiving entries for this May’s Trail Challenge and it should fill up fast. We will be running the two preliminary rounds on Saturday morning and afternoon, with the top 10 from each of those groups going on to the Finals Sunday afternoon. BCHWa will again help produce the course and they are always coming up with new and exciting ways to test you and your horse’s skills. Over $1000 in cash and prizes will be up for top honors. Don’t miss this exciting event!

Along with our always beautiful Stallion and Breed Showcases, we will be presenting a special “Rare Breeds” demo to give you a close-up look at some of the more unusual breeds that you don’t get to see as often. Maria Ryan, Official Trail of Painted Ponies Artist will be at the Expo on Saturday only to sell, sign and display her work. Maria is a local Idaho Artist and having her appear at the Show with her work will be fascinating! There will be many new vendors providing everything from Western Home Decor to Nutritional Advances in the Equine Industry. May is slated to be National Carriage Driving Month, and we are putting together a fabulous display of driving teams and horse-drawn vehicles!!
