 Throughout the 30 years in the horse business, my desire to own the "ideal" horse went through many transitions before "discovering" the Paso Fino. I wanted to find a horse that was comfortable to ride, intelligent and exciting. As an avid trail rider, I was looking for a horse that was sure footed, comfortable and that would cover the miles without tiring. After many disciplines, I found myself still looking for that horse that would incite that "magic" of riding.
&I was introduced to Paso Finos by my daughter, Sarah, after she was hired to assist in training horses at the largest Paso Fino Ranch in North America. Under the tutelage of Elite Master trainer, Alberto Sierra, she learned all stages of training these horses.;p style="text-align: justify">It took only one ride for me to understand what other people meant when they referred to Paso Finos as "one of the best kept secrets in the industry." Like many of us, I had to ride one to believe that there was a horse that was so incredibly smooth to ride!  A new equine chapter began and our family moved from the crowded Hayden area to locate Westwind Ranch in Athol, Idaho where we could breed, raise and train these spectacular horses. The opportunity to share this unique breed of horse has enriched my life. Clients riding one for the first time, echo the same sentiments that I had personally felt during my first ride years ago. A smile erupts first, as they discover that there is absolutely no bounce to the ride. They are amazed that they are so smooth and comfortable and do all of this so naturally. Falling in love with the Paso Finos' proud way of going and their strong desire to please their rider also has great appeal. Regardless of seeming skill level, they are impressed with how effortless and easy they are to ride.
