Although the Horse & Ranch Expo part of Ride the West is taking a hiatus this year, we are keeping our boots in the thick of the Horse Industry. We were contacted by ACTHA (American Competetive Trail Horse Association) several months ago about becoming a Host Ride Affliliate. We studied their program and liked what we saw. It would be a perfect complement to our XTreme Trail Challenge by encouraging riders of ALL skills and levels to take part in a Trail Ride that not only would benefit them and their horses, but benefit a cause that is near and dear to all of us......horses.

We saw this as a great opportunity to show off some of the beautiful recreational area around SugarLand Ranch, encourage local and national participation and offer people a chance to win some fantastic cash and prizes. Six miles, 6 obstacles, 6 judges, 3 divisions and a whole lotta’ fun!! Vendors, a Trail Clinic with Ann Kirk, food, and camping will round out the day of events! And points that you earn at Ride The West go to Year End awards from ACTHA!

Today ACTHA is a national phenomenon with rides all across the USA. Wonderful sponsors and participants flock to ACTHA SANCTIONED rides and enable the higher cause...feeding starving horses by donating to Horse Rescues and Charities. Up to 50% of ACTHA’s proceeds are directly donated to horse charities.

Please join with us, and have fun, learn, win prizes and most of all help us stop the neglect that thousands of horses find themselves enduring. There are wonderful rescues doing everything they can...but they need help.
