New Appaloosa Horse Club President Elected

Larry Edwards of Dayton, Ohio, was elected President of the Appaloosa Horse Club by the ApHC's Board of Directors on July 5, 1996. The election took place at the annual meeting of the Board of Directors during the 49th National Appaloosa Horse Show in Oklahoma City, Oklahama. Edwards will serve a one year term, presiding at all meetings of the members and of the Board of Directors.

For 35 years, Larry Edwards has been involved in the Appaloosa business as an influential breeder and trainer. Edwards has been an approved ApHC judge for 30 of those 35 years, traveling throughout the United States and Europe representing the Appaloosa breed. As a noted historian of the Nez Perce life-style, Edwards is well-versed on the background of the Nez Perce costume and the origin of the Appaloosa horse.

Serving on the ApHC Board of Directors for five years, Edwards' dedication to the Appaloosa is invaluable. Over the years Edwards has competed for and won several National and World Championships. Edwards was also one of the founders and President of the Ohio Appaloosa Association as well as being the Horse Show Manager of the Ohio State Fair.

The ApHC is looking forward to a year with Larry Edwards as the new President. His dedication to improving, enhancing, and promoting the Appaloosa, and honoring the tradition, history and heritage of the breed, is truly indisputable.
