Youth of the Month: Jeannene Stults

Jeannene is no stranger to the fast paced world of horses and competition. She has been raised around it all her life.

Jeannene is the daughter of Laurie Nugen who is a games horse trainer. Jeannene and her family are members of the Genesee Rim Riders. They travel to Idaho Omoksee's almost every other weekend.

Jeannene is going to be an eighth grader at Greenacres Junior High. She is an honor society student, loves choir, drama and gymnastics.

Jeannene has been riding since she was about three years old. Her first competitive pony was "Chief." They won 1990 N.E.Z. High Point Buckaroo and First Place in every event that year.

After "Chief" came "Sassy Sox" a buckskin mare who won 1991 N.E.Z. High Point Buckaroo, 1993 N.W.P.R.A. High Point Buckaroo and 1993 Blazing Saddles High Point Buckaroo. Jeannene's brother Garrett now rides and races "Sassy Sox."

In the late summer of 1993 Jeannene became the proud owner of a paint mare named "Buttons." Buttons was previously owned by Holly Sir. These two won N.W.P.R.A. High Point Inter. Top Games horse and rider several years in a row. "Buttons" also won the H.K. Memorial Trophy for being voted the horse with the most heart. She has many grands in 4H to her credit.

Jeannene and Buttons won High Point 12 and-under rider at the Fall Omoksee in Genessee in 1994. They have been burning up the course this year. They recently broke the Idaho 2 barrel flag state record in the 12-15 age group at the Idaho State Omoksee Finals this past June.

"Congratulations Jeannene on a job well done!! We're sure that you and Buttons will go far".

Congratulations to Jeannene Stults, Horse Previews "Youth of the Month"
