European Horse Trainer
Late last year a horse enthusiast asked a question on "Barn Talk," the interactive messaging system of Horse Previews Magazine's internet website, about the popular and renown European horse trainer out of Norway, Stefan Forsman. Since then, we have established communication with him and begun to educate ourselves about his methods. Our correspondence has proven informative and worthwhile. It looks to me like he has a great deal to offer the horse industry in Europe, and, thanks to the electronic medium of modern communications, horse enthusiasts here can take advantage of his contributions.I've read the Swedish and Norwegian press clippings on his lectures and clinics; I've watched video tapes of clinics and television appearances over there; I've read some reviews of his clinics by followers and students; and, it looks to me like the work he is doing has obvious merit. We have urged him to plan some articles on specific topics for our magazine and he has established a way to send them to us for print from Norway via e-mail. He is about as busy as a horseman can be with training, clinics, lectures, interviews, camps, etc. and we are hoping he can strike up an expanded distribution of his methods by writing articles for Horse Previews Magazine.
A sampling of his operations in Europe include clinics for the Swedish and Norwegian veterinary institutes, the Swedish King's stables and Mounted Police in Stockholm and in Norway; riding schools, equestrian centers, breed associations, and agricultural colleges throughout Sweden and Norway; Thoroughbred and Harness racing tracks; and popular summer camps in addition to his rigorous training schedule.
