APHA: World Showcase Sale Set for July in Fort Worth
Milt Bradford Productions of Weatherford, Texas, will conduct the 1996 American Paint Horse Association's World Showcase Sale on Saturday, July 13th. The sale will be held in conjunction with the 1996 APHA World Championship Show, which runs July 5-14 at the Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth, Texas. The sale is scheduled to begin at noon. A preview of sale horses will be held Friday, July 12.The consignment deadline is March 12. The consignment fee is $325. Horses may be consigned until April 12 with a $50 late charge. The original registration certificate, a signed transfer and consignment form, and a quality photograph suitable for publication must accompany the $325 payment and $50 stall fee. Premium stalling and two bags of shavings will be provided for all consigned horses.
This select sale is restricted to a maximum of 100 head. Consignors will benefit from national advertising in the Paint Horse Jornal, as well as other select equine publications. Brochures will be distributed and detailed sale catalogs will be available on site during the World Show.
Last year's World Showcase Sale saw an average price of more than $5319 on 40 head of horses. The high-selling consignment was Struttin Encore, a 1991 sorrel overo stallion, who sold for $20,000. Two other horses each brought $9000 - Little Peppy Lou, a 1991 sorrel tobiano mare, and Dun Lucked Out, a 1991 red dun overo stallion.
Milt Bradford, owner of Milt Bradford Productions, has conducted the APHA World Showcase Sale since 1992. Bradford has several successful horse sales to his credit. In addition to the World Showcase Sale, he manages the famous Atwood/ King Ranch Production Sale held annually in Fort Worth, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Premier Horse Sale, and the Will Rogers Preferred Breeders Sale, which is held each December in conjunction with the National Cutting Horse Association's World Championship Futurity in Fort Worth.
