Chelsea Spies is an eleven year old fifth grader at Fort Colville Elementary in Colville, Washington. She is a member of the Colville Lighthorse 4-H group. Chelsea lives with her Dad and Mom, two brothers, and two sisters. Chelsea has been showing her registered Appaloosa mare "Lacey's Lightning" since she was nine years old. She and Lacey have shared many accomplishments together since their show career started in 1995. They have won first place in Jr. Pleasure, Jr. Equitation, and Jr. Novice Equitation. They also took two first places in their first time showing English together. Ending the 1996 show season, they won three grand champions in the following classes: Western Pleasure; Western Equitation; and Fitting & Showing. Chelsea's Dad recently bought her a new horse. He is a registered Quarter Horse gelding. His name is "Lucky Irish Leaguer." Chelsea hopes to show him some this 1997 show season. Chelsea also enjoys playing basketball, and is an excellent student in school. We are very proud of Chelsea, and wish her luck and loads of fun this coming show season.Denyse Spies
