Youth of the Month: Amanda Hooker
Kootenai County Saddle Club is very proud of one of their young members, Amanda Hooker, daughter of Brian and Teresa Hooker of Hayden Lake. Amanda attends Garwood Elementary and also is very active in gymnastics.
Amanda started riding at a very early age, and in her short 10 years she has accomplished what some people work a lifetime to achieve.
Amanda and her small Quarter Horse "Saucy", are a hard team to beat. Just this year her accomplishments were numerous. At the Idaho State O-Mok-See in June she brought home several ribbons and trophies in her age group, barrels, pole bending, flag, and key race. Over the 4th of July weekend at the Tri State O-Mok-See at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, she won the high point saddle in her age group, competing against kids from four states. Then later that month at the National O-Mok-See in Vernal, Utah she placed 3rd in her age group. Quite an accomplishment for her and for the K.C.S.C. and the State of Idaho. To top off her season Amanda won high point in her age group at the Kootenai County Saddle Club Open Horse Show O-Mok-See and her and Saucy have a wonderful blanket to show for their efforts.
Once again we are very proud of our young member and want to congratulate her for a great year.
Sincerely, Mary Ann McCray, Royalty Advisor
