I would like to introduce a senior youth member of the Sunwood Farms Apprentice Program - Santa Martello. Santa came to Sunwood in 1989 at age 13 and started her "horsey" career as a stall cleaner, groomer and exercise girl. She is a very hard worker and takes it very seriously. Santa, after 1 year was assigned an Arabian gelding, Sunwood Tarzanah to work, learn to show and to begin a season of showing. Santa's first year she placed very high at the Class A Arabian Shows. By her second year she was a Champion in Western Pleasure against professionals and she made her horse eligible for the Region V Championships.
Today Santa is training her first horses and is excelling at it. She will have a top string to show a Champion Pinto 1/2 Arab mare in halter, MHR Cherokee Rose, whom she will show Western; a pure Polish Arab mare, Lilu Bankata that she will show Junior Western and a beautiful pure Polish Halter filly SWF Provatcja by Stargard. And as her teacher & guiding person she will be a Champion with all three. Santa we at Sunwood are proud of you and glad you are on our team!!!
