BioScan (TM): Let Your Horse Tell You
Hall of Fame Trainer of Alysheba and the largest number of winners in racing history, Jack Van Berg, states, "Nadine, I'm really happy the way the scanner tells you some things that you don't really know. I've showed you horses I thought were sore; you found more things wrong with them, maybe things that were causing the original soreness and I'm very high on it. I think it's one of the things that is going to be great, the treatment - you can treat horses with the infrared. I'm really very high with it, I'm very satisfied with it." "They have helped me solve many problems with my horses." John Ottaviano, O.M.D., one of the original researchers and practitioners of acupuncture on animals and teacher for fifteen years at various veterinary schools throughout the country, states, "We evaluated a horse together. I was extremely impressed with the instrument's diagnostic capabilities. I believe it is an exceptional tool for the diagnosis of a variety of both obvious and subtle problems."
Brian Reeves, D.V.M., certified veterinary acupuncturist, utilizing both traditional and alternative methods of diagnosis and treatment, states, "I feel the BioScan is a very valuable teaching instrument. It helps me locate areas that might be primary or secondary that I could not find in any other way. I am finding points with the instrument that show up consistently in certain known conditions. Those points were not reactive or previously detectable by other instruments or methods. I feel it has great value as a research tool as well as a diagnostic device."
Joanne Nor, owner of the 1995 Breeders Cup Sprint with mare, Desert Stormer, states, "The BioScan System has been a major contributing factor in balancing the metabolic energy structure of the equine athletes at Norfields. This new technique of using the ancient art of acupuncture seems to be the least invasive yet most beneficial."
Bob Betts, D.V.M., says, "Specifically, it benefited a case of localized myositis of the hamstring muscle observed immediately after a race."
Eddie Chavez, D.V.M., states, "Although I have had limited experience with this form of treatment modality, I can say that it appears to be a helpful adjunct to traditional treatments in cases of soft tissue inflammations, i.e.: muscle, tendon, ligament and nerve disorders. I was especially intrigued by the scanner because it often found hot spots in areas of the body that from a clinical perspective I would not have suspected."
Tony Pickard, D.V.M., states, "We have worked together on certain cases and I have found the infrared therapy to be very beneficial in aiding in the relief of various ailments of the racehorse."
Bruce Talsma, D.V.M., states, "I have seen significant results on various neuromuscular problems in the race horses which I am treating that I feel are attributable to the infrared treatments. Compiling data and interpreting results of this system could provide a useful aid in the treatment of certain ailments of the racehorse."
