TRI-CHALLENGE EXTRAVAGANZA & EQUIFAIR

Hoofheats Ahead Into The New Millennium

One of America's largest equestrian event will take place here in the Northwest, and is sure to be a whinnie of a good time for the entire family!

Yakima, Washington: Top bred national competing horses will be pounding their hooves at the Sundome Sports Arena and Central Washington Fairgrounds in Yakima, Washington as amateurs, youth, trainers, and owners meet on April 25-30, 2000 for "Tri-Challenge Extravaganza and Equifair 2000." From high stepping hunter under saddle horses to running sliding stop-reiners, Tri-Challenge Extravaganza and Equifair 2000 will keep spectators on the edge of their seats with five days of explosive events!

The Tri-Challenge Extravaganza and EquiFair is sponsored by Grant Productions, founded by a public school educator and AQHA horse show enthusiasts whose vision is to make a difference for children with special needs. President Shelley Grant says it is her goal to provide and assist several youth organizations through this annual event. Proceeds from the show will be donated to a children wishing organization and youth scholarships. The Tri-Challenge has a long list of special features and will include:

Sharon Prestegard, Award winning artist and official poster artist of the 1998 World Championship Paint Horse Show, of Hampton, Minnesota will be the Tri-Challenge featured artist. She has created the commemorative artwork and poster for the Tri-Challenge titled "If Wishes Were Horses." Limited edition posters will be made available at the Tri-Challenge Extravaganza and EquiFair for $10.

Demonstration clinics will also be held throughout April 28, Friday until April 30, Sunday. Cleve Wells, multiple World and Reserve Champion trainer of Texas will be on hand to demonstrate to spectators several valuable training techniques that will help give viewers positive results. Afterwards, he will be available, both Friday and Saturday evening, to answer any of your questions at the Equine Promotions commercial display booth inside the Sundome sports arena. Also, videos will be available for sale regarding several training topics by Cleve Wells. Tickets will be available through any ticketmaster outlet beginning November 1, 1999. The Yakima ticketmaster outlet office will provide tickets at a lower rate due to additional service charges that may apply over the initial admission charge. The cost for clinic viewers is only $10 individual, $20 family of four. Any additional family members over four is an additional $2.50 each. Tickets for Cleve Wells, both Friday and Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. will provide a same day pass into the EquiFair at no additional cost.

Over 70 commercial exhibits by dealers of tack, horse trailers, farm equipment, barn construction companies, feed and supply, equine art, gifts, jewelry, horse show clothing, silversmiths, stall curtain, blankets, and embroidery, breeding farms, and various riding and breed organizations will be a part of what will be a huge EquiFair for all horse enthusiasts! For those just interested in viewing and shopping throughout the EquiFair only and do not with to attend the Cleve Wells Clinic you may purchase tickets separately for $5.00 adults, $2.50 for children (6-12), and children 5 and under are free. Additional service charges may apply through any ticketmaster outlet.

American Paint Horse Association, Appaloosa Horse Club Approved double-judged four-day shows, along with ABRA- American Buckskin Registry Association double-judged show which helps participants qualify for National World Shows in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Fort Worth, Texas.

National Reining Horse Association added money classes for open, non pro, and rookie participants scheduled April 28, Friday afternoon. National Snaffle Bit Association added purse money futurities in western pleasure, hunter under saddle, both 3 year old and maturities for youth, non pro, and open divisions. Futurities for yearling halter and longe line classes. Stallion Avenue Central Park Avenue inside the Sundome sports arena for the selective mare owner who wishes to breed to only the very best!

A colorful grand entry of several equestrian drill teams at the beginning of each evening show both Friday and Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. in the Sundome which also features NSBA futurities, NRHA reining, native American dancers, pleasure driving, and dressage demonstrations.

Equestrians wishing to register for the event may receive an Exhibitor's Packet with hotel accommodation information at discount prices from Karen Mennenga at P.O. Horse exhibitors will not have to purchase EquiFair tickets; however, any exhibitors wishing to attend the Cleve Wells Clinic will need to purchase their tickets through Ticketmaster. Please indicate whether you are purchasing the Cleve Wells Clinic admission tickets or the EquiFair. Remember, Cleve Wells Clinic tickets will get you into the EquiFair at no additional cost.
