1996 Fall Final Show Results
The annual Fall Final "Spectacular" held October 5 & 6, 1996 at the Spokane Interstate Fairgrounds in Spokane, Washington, hosted over 200 contestants in a wide variety of events. This unique horse show is co-sponsored by two Northwest Horse Associations:The Kaniksu Reined Cow Horse Association (K.R.C.H.A.) and the Reining Horse Association of the North West (R.H.A.N.W.).
The two day show was judged by Abby Cosenza from Cave Creek, Arizona.
The K.R.C.H.A., offered events in Halter, Pleasure, Cutting, Working Cow Horse and 3 year old Reining, Pleasure & Cutting Futurities.
A silver trophy belt buckle was awarded to the winner in each event "+" the K.R.C.H.A. included added money in each event's purse along with 70% of the entry fees for a cash jackpot payback. A check was presented to the top horses, based on the number of entries in each event. In addition to these "open to all" events, the K.R.C.H.A. has an ongoing Breeders Incentive Program for all horses sired by select stallions. These eligible Incentive Program horses also compete for additional cash and awards every year through each nominated horse's 3 year old year.
The Fall Final "Spectacular" was also the final show in the K.R.C.H.A. "Cutting the Cost of Cutting Series". This series is for K.R.C.H.A. members who participated in the six show series in 1996. Silver trophy belt buckles will be presented to the hi point winners for the year at the Annual K.R.C.H.A. General Membership Meeting November 2, 1996. The Kaniksu Reined Cow Horse Association awarded over twenty, silver trophy belt buckles and a total of over $5,900.00 in a same day cash payback to the winners.
The R.H.A.N.W. offered a number of Reining classes for horses and riders of all ages and expertise. The Fall Final "Spectacular" was also the final show in their 1996 Reining Series. All reining classes included added money with $2,106.00 paid out to the day winners and over $10,550.00 paid out for year end awards.
This one day show paid out a combined total of over $8,000.00, plus many Awards to the winning horses and owners.
