PAINT SPOTS December 2000
by Jeri StoneNow is the time to show support for your Paint Horse Clubs - attending their meetings this winter, get involved and help out wherever you can - even if it is only to do something small at first. It is nice to receive your club's Year End Awards but clubs need people who will keep the club running and help out in different areas. The show season is over so it is not that hard to take a couple hours out of each month to go to the meetings, socialize and get to know the other members and become an active part of the club.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Denice Correll of Junction City, OR who has a serious liver problem and is having to sell all her horses. She has been to several doctors and so far they are still trying to determine a plan for treatment. We are glad to hear that Jeff Beckner is back working after five months of recovering from a horse accident. Also was glad to hear that Dannette and Haylie Hartman of Klamath Falls, OR are both recovering from horse related accidents. Bernie Landfelder is doing well after his Chemo treatment and Lyle Cory is healing well after his surgery.
There is a wonderful report from Paul and Diane Collins - after Paul was diagnosed with cancer and given only a short time to live - the doctors cannot find any signs of this disease - Paul and Diane feel that through the thoughts and prayers of many people he has been able to overcome what doctors diagnosed him with. Thank you. Paul is continuing with regular blood work but feels so much better being off all the medication he was on.
Also on the mend after many months of treatment is Lianna Smith of Beaverton, OR who has been battling cancer for several months. It was so nice to visit with her at the OPHC Fall Show and report that she looks great!
