Friends of Wishing Star - The Real Stars!
![]()
Wishing Star would like to thank the friends who support and do special things for Wishing Star Gallop. Ones who are silent givers, take no glory and fight towards our cause. We recognize and applaud your efforts:
Dale Brannon & Jerry Allen, who assist with their horses and buggy at the Gallop each year. They work very hard for days (for maybe only five minutes of an appearance) to help create an additional memory for our wish children and their families. They are truly dedicated to our cause and help to make a dream become reality for many children who ride with them in their buggy.
April Vogel, who took time from her busy career to come out and grace our stage with her talented and beautiful singing voice. She creates an emotion that highlights all of our production numbers. We'd be lost without you, April!
Tod Locke, Wishing Star Gallop's artist. Tod is always there when we need his expertise with creative art. He has created the art designed on the Big "D" Blankets since 1991. His talent helps to market the blankets at the auction.
Janet Gorman & April Vogel's children's choir. Director Janet Gorman and her children have supported our production number for the past four years. April Vogel's children's choir performed for their second time this year. It took a lot of time on behalf of these families to bring their children down for a four minute presentation on stage. Janet & April have put in a lot of work into the success and outcome of these production numbers. They are all special to us.
The American Italian Club, a supporter and sponsor of Wishing Star Gallop. These wonderful members took on an additional responsibility in running the restaurant for their fourth year at Gallop. It took many hours of preparation and cost on their part. They donated all of the proceeds back to our foundation. Wishing Star children mean so much to these dedicated members. Wishing Star is much richer for the American Italian Club's involvement in our foundation. Thank you everyone!
All the Wishing Star Children and their families. These families come from all around to help support the Gallop. We thank the Turner, Newman, Weskamp, Elliott, McClain, and Bentley families for their hard work in the production numbers.
Al Randall, of Pine Rock Marketing for the donation of the Trainer's package auctioned off during the sale. He has been instrumental with the Gallop since its inception. He's worn several hats in helping to fight for these children and make the Gallop a success.
Wing's Fencing, John and Joyce Wing, for donating the 12x12 free standing paneled corral with a superbull gate, and Bald Eagle that you raffled at the event. Thank you for all the advertising you did, kindness you showed, involvement in "Josie's" wish, and support to Wishing Star's children.
Gary Johnson of Iron Horse Construction, for donating the stall door for auction. Your love, support, and contribution to Wishing Star will bring a smile to a little child's face.
Former L.A. Raider, Curt Marsh. You're always there for us when asked. You juggle other priorities around to accommodate us, give up special events happening in your life, and grace our stage with your talent, love, care, and concern for our children.
Horse Previews. You've been our very eyes, ears, and word of mouth in educating the general public on what we're all about. Horse Previews has increased the public attendance and participation at Gallop, in addition to being instrumental in referrals for "wishes" of "special" children. They've always found space for our articles in their magazine, have supported our cause for years, and remain forever in the hearts of us here at Wishing Star. We are indebted!
Spokane Falls Equestrian Centre, Barbara Thornton, and Dee & Eddie Biegler. Thank you for the raffle you held at your Gallop booth in the trade show for one month's free boarding and training with Eddie Biegler. You've all helped to make dreams come true for Wishing Star children.
My ringmen, Willard Wolf, John Sylvester, Fred Pool, and Gary Kendall. These men are our success story. They are the ones that make the bottom line happen - money raised! The ending figures ride on their shoulders, and they've always been there for me. They work hard, endless hours, strive to make the most money they can, travel hours at their own expense to be with us, and never ask for any acknowledgment, lime-light, or recognition. They are the back bone in the success story of Gallop. We are truly blessed. Thank you guys!
Awarded Wishing Star Foundation's Event Sponsor of the Year 1990 thru 1995, Steve Colvin, my good friend who's been with me since the beginning of Gallop. Gallop begins with Steve. This busy business man always makes time for our foundation. He makes things happen, raises thousands of dollars for the Gallop, and never lets us down. The successful existence of Gallop is attributed to this special man who really cares about these children, believes in the event, yet never lets us give him recognition. This one's for you Steve. We wouldn't be here without you.
To my Gallop Committee who work so very hard months before, to the day of, and after. We have the best crew of dedicated people. They make this growing event run effectively and smoothly to the public attending and participating. They are admired by thousands and envied by other clubs and foundations in the success record they have been able to help us achieve. They are extraordinary people dedicated to the children of Wishing Star and the success of "Gallop." Wishing Star feels very fortunate to have these wonderful people on its crews!
We apologize for leaving out all of the other's who fit in this category. You are all special and were glad to have you as part of our Wishing Star "family."
