Nile Announces New Horse Extravaganza Billings, MT -- The NILE Stock Show & ProRodeo has announced a new addition to the line-up for this year's October event in Billings: a Horse Extravaganza featuring stallion exhibits, clinics, horse sales, a kids area and a "Mane Market" trade show. The Horse Extravaganza is scheduled for Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19 at MetraPark in Billings, in conjunction with the final two days of the 35th Annual NILE Stock Show & ProRodeo. Admission is free to spectators for the Horse Extravaganza and nearly all NILE events. NILE's traditional Weanling/Yearling Horse Sale on Friday and the Ranch Gelding Competition and Performance Horse Sale on Saturday will be included in the Extravaganza line up. Free educational clinics include: Van Hargis, "The Lonestar Horseman," is a Texas trainer/clinician who is on the fast-track nationally because of his unique style. Specialty topics include First Time Under Saddle; Three steps to Stopping; Ground Manners & Ground Work; Dealing with Spookiness; and Catching Hard to Catch Horses. Kea Waddell, trainer & riding instructor from Helena, MT will teach grooming and showmanship, including basic snaffle-bit foundation, effective training, and creating horses with a "job description." Kymry Schmidt, a national and regional award winner in the show ring, will share her secrets on saddle seat and hunt seat proper apparel, style and equitation. Jim Ford is a certified Equine Dental Technician. He will educate horse owners about mouth care and how dental health relates to overall horse health. Other horse events at NILE include the Three Can Tango Barrel Race (October 12 & 13), Tennessee Walking Horse Show (October 12), Northern Plains Ranch Roping Finals (October 13), NILE's NCHA Cutting Horse Competition (October 14 & 15), and the NILE 4-H Horse Show (October 19).
