July Paint Spots
By Jeri Stone When you get this issue of 'Paint Spots' the APHA World Show will be history and I hope in the August issue to have a list of people form our Zone with who did what at the show.As many of you know Roger and Sally Saur had their tack room at the stable they work out of broken into and everything was taken from saddles, lounge lines to the refrigerator. About $25,000 worth of stuff was taken. If you have any information or know of people sell "cheep" Avila, Crates or Bob's saddles or other equipment contact Sally or Roger.
There are several more Paint Horse Shows that are now history for the year 2000. Inland Northwest Paint Horse Club's Spring Spectacular in Spokane was held at the newly remodeled Spokane Interstate Fairgrounds. They have ALL NEW stalls, warm up arena - new footing and by next year it will be covered. The annual Saturday night dinner was outstanding and lots of fun. This show featured National Snaffle Bit classes for the first time and they were well received along with their All Breed Futurities.
The Central Oregon Paint Horse Club's Hi-Desert Paint-O-Rama in Redmond, OR was a delightful show. They used the indoor dome arena at the Deschutes County Expo Center and it was unbelievably wonderful. What a great indoor facility! The club all worked together to make this show a well run and friendly show. They did a wonderful job in that everything was set up to make people feel like they had walked into a first class show - from the hospitality area to the fresh painted and well set up Trail Classes. This show was a four-judge show but offered one judge free for exhibitors.
Ashley Rogers is the proud mother of Monica Nichol born in April prematurely in Portland, OR. Monica weighed only 4 lbs. 7 oz. and had to stay in the hospital for a while. Jesse and Ashley were staying in Portland until they could return home with Monica.
