NRHA: Twenty Reining Qualifiers to attend 2000 Festival of Champions in Gladstone, NJ

Oklahoma City-- As a new corporate sponsor of the United States Equestrian Team (USET), the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) is proud to announce the top 20 qualifiers that competed at the USET Reining Semifinals held May 19 at the 2000 NRHA Derby.

The top 20 riders, including ties, will advance to the $100,000 Cosequin/USET Championship presented by Bayer to be held at the USET Festival of Champions, June 22-25, in Gladstone, NJ.

Leading the pack is Ima Nu Bar Bay (Docs Nuance/Lisa Dry Boss), ridden by Todd Crawford of Temecula, CA, and owned by Mary Griffith of Ft. Collins, CO, and Mr Tori Kid (Brennas Kid/Miss Torima Jac) owned and ridden by NRHA Hall of Famer Tim McQuay of Tioga, TX, tied with a score of 223.5. Each entry took home a paycheck of $6,729.38. Dun It Out West, ridden by Todd Bergen for owner Toni Isola Bayer of Eagle Point, OR, was close behind with a score of 223, to earn $5,456.25.

The National Reining Horse Association is the governing body of the sport of reining responsible for enforcing the standards of competition, promoting the sport, and educating its members and the general public about the proper performance of the reining horse in the show arena. NRHA sanctioned 317 events in 1999 and distributed 3.6 million dollars in competition purses.
