Rescued Equine Movie Star Visits Spokane

Pet Fest to feature "Little Blue McGoo" from Dances with Wolves

Spokane, WA - Before ending up in a bad home, Little Blue McGoo played one of the main horses in the 1990 movie Dances With Wolves. The Native American holy man, Kicking Bird, rides a striking horse in the movie that appears to be white: Little Blue McGoo. Little Blue McGoo will be one of the featured attractions at the upcoming PET FEST coming to the Spokane Fair & Expo Center on June 14. "When Blue was rescued he was several hundred pounds underweight and so lethargic he didn't even try to swat off the flies that swarmed around him" states Brent Glover owner of Orphan Acres Equine and Wildlife Rescue in Viola, Idaho. Little Blue McGoo will tell his story in pictures of how a famous horse is not exempt from abuse and neglect. Get your photo taken with Blue and learn about the history of this beloved horse, from fame to famine and his amazing rehabilitation.

Pet Fest is Spokane's premier pet expo for pet owners, pet enthusiasts and pet lovers. Apply to adopt a new pet, shop for the pets you have and learn more about these furry family members. Please leave pets at home. Saturday, June 14, 2003 10am-6pm at the Spokane Fair & Expo Center Ag A building. Admission is $6 for adults; kids 12 and under FREE .
