“Youth
of the Month” Hi, my name is Amy Zwarg and I am 14 years old. I attend Newport High School. I have been riding my horses since I was in diapers. My first pony was Freckles, and we still have her today. I was in Bonner County 4-H with her for one year. We bred her and got my Quarter Pony, Sadie, which I rode for about two years. Then my aunt introduced me to Starr, my Quarter Horse buckskin mare who I ride now. I am involved with Bonner County 4-H and Cusick Fairs with her. At Sandpoint I had made Districts for six years, and the first year in Cusick which was last year. At the Sandpoint Rodeo I got to carry the American Flag, I still get to do that this year. I also participate in Kootenai County Saddle Club Playdays once a month (KCSC). I also take Starr along to rodeos with my sister, she is the Newport Rodeo Queen. I won my first buckle on Starr at the Springdale Pee Wee Rodeo in 2000. We also go to playdays when weekends are open. My sister and I participate in some junior rodeos. The first junior rodeo I participated in I had got second place in pole bending for the day. Thank you for reading, and I hope all riders have a fun, fun summer. Amy |
