Riders Saddle Up to
Benefit The Maintenance
of Multi-Use Trails

Inland Empire Backcountry Horsemen’s Presents their 9th annual poker ride on May 8, 2004 on the BLM land at Fishtrap Lake.

Participants ride a well-marked, designated trail on horseback, at their own speed stopping at stations to obtain one of five cards for a poker hand. The two best, and the worst poker hands win cash prizes, plus there are many door prizes donated by local merchants. The first riders start at 9:00 AM and the last riders start no later than noon. They enjoy a scenic ride on 5000 acres of Bureau of Land

Management land meandering through wooded pockets, over open prairie and past Fishtrap and Hog Lakes. Riders have the option of riding approximately 7-1/2 or 12 miles. Those choosing to take the longer ride enjoy seeing the waterfall at Hog Lake.

Backcountry Horsemen’s mission is to preserve the right of responsible horsemen to use horses and mules for recreation on public lands. The poker ride is a fund raising event to support our “Leave No Trace” education program and the trail maintenance projects we perform to keep trails open for all recreational users.

Fishtrap Lake is west of Spokane. Take Interstate 90 to exit 254, cross over the freeway and follow the old state highway about 3 miles. Watch for signs and turn in at the Miller Ranch.

Registration and other information is available on our website at www.iebch.com or call Ken at 509-466-2225.
