Appaloosa 2000 Race Season Off and Running!
Moscow, ID - March 23, 2000 - February and March kicked off the 2000 race season for several Appaloosas at the Blue Ribbon Downs race track in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Five races took place and Appaloosas proved their winning abilities in each race.An Appaloosa and Paint maiden race for three, four and five year-olds took place on February 6, 2000. The 330 yard race had a winning time of 17.69 and a total purse of $2,120.00.
First Place: It's Cash's Perks, a three year-old dark bay filly won by a quarter length, Sire: Dash For Perks (AQHA), Dam: Its Cash Legacy, Owner: Jim Limbaugh of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Trainer: Jim Limbaugh, Jockey: Randy Wilson, earned $1,290.00.
Third Place: Fancie Bunny, a four year-old gray filly placed by a quarter length. Sire: Mr Spotted Bull, Dam: Majestic Bunny. Owner: Sherry Bristow of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Trainer: Alford Bristow, Jockey: R.C. Simon, earned $140.00. An Appaloosa and Paint maiden race for three, four and five year-olds took place on February 19, 2000. The 330 yard race had a winning time of 17.63 and a total purse of $1,400.00.
First Place: Fast Lane Willie, a three year-old dark bay gelding won by a nose. Sire: I Love Willie, Dam: Lucks Golly Rocket (AQHA). Owner: Joe or Margie Judkins of Rush Springs, Oklahoma. Trainer: Jim Limbaugh, Jockey: Randy Wilson, earned $840.00.
Third Place: Macks Lady Zevi, a three year-old bay filly placed by three-quarters of a length. Sire: Zevis Scooter Bug; Dam: Davids Bianca. Owner: DeWayne Mc Elhannon of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Trainer: Rick Mc Elhannon, Jockey: R.C. Simon, earned $140.00.
Other Appaloosas placing: Streaking Charlie--4th, The Rainbow Patch--5th, and Viper--7th.
An Appaloosa and Paint Allowance for three year-olds and older took place on February 27, 2000. The 350 yard race had a winning time of 18.50 and a total purse of $1,900.00. First Place: It's Cash's Perks, a three year-old dark bay filly won by a nose. Sire: Dash For Perks (AQHA); Dam: Its Cash Legacy. Owner: Jim Limbaugh of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Trainer: Jim Limbaugh, Jockey: Randy Wilson, earned $1,140.00.

Trainer: Brenda Brown, Jockey: Debbie Freeman, earned $840.00.
Third Place: The Rainbow Patch, a three year-old bay gelding placed by a head. Sire: The Rainbow Ranger (AQHA), Dam: Miss Easy Patch. Owner: Lonnie Orman of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Trainer: Lonnie Orman, Jockey: John Bradley, earned $140.00.

An Appaloosa and Paint Maiden for three, four and five year-olds took place on March 12, 2000. The 350 yard race had a winning time of 18.75 and a total purse of $1,850.00.
First Place: Streaking Charlie, a five year-old chestnut gelding won by two lengths. Sire: Dealing Six (AQHA); Dam: Isn't She Pretty. Owner: Mamie or Amy Bull of McAlester, Oklahoma. Trainer: J.V. White, Jockey: Kenneth Goad, Jr., earned $840.00. Another Appaloosa placing: Fancie Bunny--5th.
