American Paint Horse Association Horse & Rider Offers Free Seminars at Paint World

FORT WORTH, Texas-The American Paint Horse Association (APHA) and Horse & Rider Magazine have once again teamed up to present the fourth annual Horse & Rider Seminar Series. The series will be held in the Watt Arena of the Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth, Texas, July 1-2, during the 2000 APHA World Championship Paint Horse Show.

The World Show, which runs June 27-July 8 at the Will Rogers Equestrian Center, is the perfect venue to learn from some of the best trainers in the field.

Free to the public, this year's series begins on Saturday, July 1, with a three-hour session featuring clinician John Lyons. Returning for the third year, Lyons has captured the attention of the entire horse industry with methods that level the playing field for human and horse. Lyons will also demonstrate his world-renowned training methods that take the buck, bolt and bite out of your problem horse.

Lynn Palm begins the Sunday session at 9 a.m. as she demonstrates how to add an extra touch of finesse and style to your showing methods. An accomplished and respected horsewoman in both U.S. and international competition, Palm's clinics focus on improving horsemanship skills and achieving pressure-free communication with horses.

Concluding the seminars, NRHA Champion Dell Hendricks will open up his "playbook" of training techniques that will help take your reining horse to the top of the judge's card. A world-class rider, Hendricks will demonstrate how to get the stop and rollback to look like one effortless move.

For more information on these seminars, contact the APHA at (817) 834-APHA (2742), extension 418.

The APHA was formed in 1962 with approximately 3,800 horses in the registry. Today, more than 530,000 Paints are registered with the association, making Paint Horses the fifth-largest horse breed in the world. Now more than 84,400 members strong, the APHA strives to preserve and promote the history, breeding, training, racing, showing, sales and enjoyment of American Paints.
