Let's Rendezvous!

On April 29 & 30 at the Spokane Interstate Fairgrounds, Backcountry Horsemen of Washington will be sponsoring "Rendezvous 2000," an event focused at bringing together many equine activities, clinics, seminars and of course packing competitions for everyone to share. Even if you don't own a horse or mule there is something fun for everyone's interest; Goat and Llama Packing demonstrations, or maybe the "Wild Horse Adoption" sponsored by the Bureau of Land Management.

All competitive events are open to anyone who pre-registers, and some do not require a horse or mule such as the Cross-cut Saw Competition, Truck and Trailer Rodeo or Hitch Tying. The hot "Rendezvous 2000" raffle will be a gorgeous 4 year old Appaloosa mare (chestnut with a snowflake blanket) "Ima Cherry Rustler" produced by Tucker Prairie Appaloosas and polished off with 60 days training by Todd Martin Training. Commercial vendors will provide plenty of shopping opportunities, displays and much more. A mouth watering catered Saturday evening dinner with music will be followed by the "2000 Auction." If you aren't there, you definitely will lose out.

Backcountry Horsemen is an organization dedicated to perpetuating recreational stock use on all Public Lands. By actively participating in land use planning/ regulation forums and assisting various government and private agencies, Backcountry Horsemen has become a powerful voice for responsible horse use in the United States and Canada. Between 1995 and 1999 Backcountry Horsemen of America members have contributed more than 400,000 hours of volunteer labor valued at over $7,000,000.
