Ann Beckner Foundation Helping Today's Youth Through a Relationship With Horses
The Ann Beckner Foundation was developed in memory of Ann Beckner of Potlatch, Idaho. Many of you may know her as Anna Mae. She loved life, people, children and animals, especially horses. Ann lived life to the fullest, until on August 27, 1999 when her life was taken while riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle.Because of Ann's strong will, determination and love for horses and kids, friends and family have established this Foundation which will be granting scholarships to youth that have a desire to develop or further their horsemanship knowledge and skills and may be used toward riding lessons, clinics and horsemanship achievement awards.
To get this Foundation up and running, we are having a Fun and Education Equine Clinic, March 11, 2000 from 9am - 6pm which will be operating this year out of Marcia Moore's Training and Boarding Stable located 6.2 miles North of the Potlatch Y on Hwy 95. This will be a day packed full of guest speakers, demonstrations, craft and information booths, door prizes, concessions and a variety of equine educational information for people of all ages. There will be a $3 per person or $10 per family of four or more donation at the door. We will also have raffle tickets for a 2000 foal donated by Kirk & Janice Todish out of their grullo stallion "Sterling Command" ($5 per ticket or $20 for five tickets, max sale of 1000 tickets). For more information please contact, Janice Todish 208-875-1234 or Janice Schwanz 208-245-3085.
