PAINT SPOTS February 2001
By Jeri StoneHere we are with one month to go before the first Paint Show here in the Northwest - the Southwest Washington Paint Horse Club's Show will be March 10-11 at the Clark County Fair Grounds in Ridgefield, WA followed by the Oregon Paint Horse Club's Spring Show on March 31- April 1 at the Linn County Fair and Expo Center in Albany, OR. I will be home from New Zealand by then and hope to make both shows. If you have news for me let me know at these shows or via a phone call (360) 295-3477 or e-mail sptspots@toledotel.com so I can include it in PAINT SPOTS.
We want to wish Ken Wignes, Randy Ruhlman, Walt Dinning and Sue Dahlsten the best on their recovery from surgery recently.
We were sorry to read that long time APHA judge George Sossamon, Jr. passed away in November. Mr. Sossamon judged many shows in the Northwest and was very active in APHA.
We were also saddened to hear that the very fine APHA stallion, Red Charisma owned by Deb & Eric Jarvis in Texas, died.
Denice Correll of Junction City, OR would like to thank all the people who e-mailed or called her during her illness - she said she was amazed how supportive horse people can be when others are in need. She has just had surgery and is recovering and the doctors still do not know what is wrong with her liver. Our thoughts and prayers are still with her.
Congratulations to Chuck and Angie Bruner of Winlock, WA on the birth of their son, Travis Charles Burner, on December 28th. His brother Luke is thrilled with his new brother.

One of the most important rule changes and one I am sure most people will be happy about is that there will be no declaration forms to fill out and sent in this year.
