The Western Idaho Horse Fair & Trade Show
The Hottest Ticket In Idaho This Winter!The Western Idaho Horse Fair and Trade Show will celebrate its second season at the Western Idaho Fairgrounds in Boise. Running February 18, 19, & 20, 2000 this international horse exposition is the perfect way to ring in the new millennium.
The kick-off day for the Horse Fair will be Friday and will be topped off by an exciting, show stopping, and enchanting evening gala. Filled with surprises and amazing demonstrations of classical dressage, jumping, a parade of breeds, dynamic music and much more, this year's gala promises to be the best ever. Tickets for this event are $12, which will also include entrance into the Trade Show for that day. An encore performance will take place Saturday evening, so don't miss it!
The trade show has something for everyone. The kids will enjoy the pony rides, Ed White the rodeo clown, face painting, games and a petting zoo. While the adults will be wowed by hi-tech product demonstrations, enough vendor booths to keep you busy all day and educational seminars throughout the day including some of the top clinicians in the United States. Educational programs will include trainers, veterinarians, farriers, and other equine professionals.
Many well known clinicians are expected, including John Lyons, Don West, Barbra Schulte, Sally O'Connor, Bonnie Marlewski-Probert, Jeff Spencer, Justin Warneke to name only a few. With all this, the Western Idaho Fair and Trade Show really is the hottest ticket in Idaho and the Northwest this winter!
The Stallion Station will feature horses from Idaho and surrounding states. This is a great time to pick a sire for your mares. The Horse Fair will also host well-known artists and display their art. Professionally commentated, exciting live demonstrations will include cutting, reining, dressage, western pleasure, and hunt seat as well as informative demonstrations on showing your horse and purchasing or selling your equines.
Sunday morning begins with Cowboy Church. Pastor Lyn Schaal will be conducting a non-denominational service. Treasure Valley Paint Horse Club is hosting their first annual Stallion Nomination Preview in the main arena. This preview will attract spectators from all parts of the country. After the Stallion Preview, John Lyons is scheduled to speak.
Sunday evening get ready for a special "Evening with John Lyons." After the Trade Show closes at 6pm, the Northwing will re-open at 7pm, with a special performance with John. Tickets for this evening will be $25.
Show Admission is $15, and $3 for 11 to 6 and Seniors, children 5 & under are free.
